EDGE Employment Process
What supported employment means...

Supported employment means integrated work... you will be working alongside people who don't have a mental health diagnosis.

Supported employment means ongoing support... you will be getting assistance on and off the job to remain successfully employed.

Supported employment does not mean sheltered employment.

  • Cost - Its free.
  • Placement first - Training delivered on the job as required.
  • Wages and conditions reflective of the rest of the workforce- award wages or above.
  • Universal eligibility - No one refused service due to the perceived level of impairment.
  • Individualised approach - The client determines what / how much support they require.
  • Ongoing support - Support is offered for as long as the client needs / wants it.
  • Career development - accepting that people change so do requirements regarding work and this is a fluid and ongoing part of personal growth.
