Supported employment means integrated work... you will be working alongside people who don't have a mental health diagnosis.
Supported employment means ongoing support... you will be getting assistance on and off the job to remain successfully employed.
Supported employment does
not
mean sheltered employment.
Cost
- Its free.
Placement first
- Training delivered on the job as required.
Wages and conditions
reflective of the rest of the workforce- award wages or above.
Universal eligibility
- No one refused service due to the perceived level of impairment.
Individualised approach
- The client determines what / how much support they require.
Ongoing support
- Support is offered for as long as the client needs / wants it.
Career development
- accepting that people change so do requirements regarding work and this is a fluid and ongoing part of personal growth.
